Not only U.S. attendees, but also attendees from other countries are interested in Thai products and looking forward to buying products from Thailand.
This year, the Thai pavilion introduced various organic products in both the grocery section and the health and beauty section such as coconut products, organic fragrant brown rice, Thai sauces, bar soaps, essential oils plus many more products from high quality Organic Thai Produces.
Mr. Sam from Merit Food Product Co., Ltd said his farm became an organic farm by accident. Fertilizer for coconut trees was expensive, so he just stopped using fertilizer and left coconut trees grow naturally. The trees grew perfectly and produced high quality coconut juice and coconut milk.
With those results, he decided to stop using any chemicals and started natural organic farming.
Since 2003, the company has received many standards of organic agriculture. They include a certification from IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) by Bioagricert in Italy, USDA NOP (U.S. Department of Agricultural, National Organic Program) by International Certification Service in the U.S., and ACO (Australian Certified Organic) by Australian Certified Organic in Australia.
Merit Food Product Co., Ltd. products are now sold in many countries, either as house brands or private labels such as Merito and Conga. The company’s mission is to enhance organic coconut products and strengthen Merito brand. Soon products under the Merito brand will enter the U.S. market.

Chefs at the Thai Pavilion said Merito’s coconut milk is very good for making soup; it is neither thick nor creamy. It creates a milky touch with high coconut flavor which is perfect for many Thai foods and curries. You may use it to thin a thick soup or to reduce the fat content from butter.
Thai Organic Food Co., Ltd was first founded as a Thai restaurant. From that beginning, the farm was established to fulfill the need to supply natural products to its kitchen.
Mr. Kaan, the owner of Thai Organic Food, said his wife likes to cook, so he had to be a farmer to produce ingredients for her kitchen. The farm, named “Rai Pluk Ruk” which means “the field that grows love”, was established in 2000.
The farm is a small productive land that utilizes resources effectively, located in Rachaburi province near Bangkok. Since 2001, it has been certified by Organic Agriculture Certification Thailand, accredited by IFOAM.
Currently, “Rai Pluk Ruk” produces organic products to supply not only to their own restaurant, but also over 20 branches of Bangkok’s five major supermarkets and overseas. Many companies in Europe carry products from Thai Organic Food.

Once the products from Thai Organic Food were sampled at Natural Product Expo West 2011, many attendees asked for distributors and retailers that carry the products in the U.S. and Canada. The company is now looking for distributors and retailers. We hope to see a business match for Thai Organic Food soon.
Mr. Kaan plans to increase the variety of flavors and improve the packaging for his products. The company’s mission is to produce the best quality sauces and to create products that use organic vegetables along with other ingredients produced at his farm. Thai Organic Food intends to expand into a world market.
Top Organic Products and Supplies Co., Ltd presented organic fragrant white and brown rice, organic jasmine rice vermicelli, organic spring-roll sauce, organic chili sauce and other interesting products.
Top Organic Products and Supplies is a part of STC Group, which is a conglomerate of established trading and manufacturing companies in the field of agro-industry, food and services and covers both domestic and global networks extensively.
There is no doubt that Thai Hom Mali or jasmine rice is the most favorite fragrant rice in every market. Once the rice was cooked at Thai Pavilion in Food Sampling section of Natural Products Expo West 2011, everyone loved it. The special menu of the day is coconut rice or “Khao Man”. The flavor of jasmine rice and coconut milk together is irresistible; it creates a tender mild flavor with an inviting aroma.
Mongkol Fine Fresh Co., Ltd also joined the space in Thai Pavilion. It created a juicy, fruity look for Thai tropical fruits.
The company produces Thai fresh and processed fruit products and provides a viable alternative of safe, tasteful organic fruits.

Its promise of high standards is founded on the values and principles in the motto, “Naturally, Responsibly, Wholeheartedly…for healthier generations”.
Taste Nirvana had its own booth at the event which created an atmosphere of refreshment as did their packaging. Their coconut water is as refreshing as it is from the coconut.
Taste Nirvana Foods & Commerce International was founded in 2003 to provide “the best tasting beverages using Thailand’s resources.”
It also introduced a variety of other product lines, including Thai coffee, Thai tea, coconut juice, aloe vera drink, energy drinks, food products, and herbal balms.
Taste Nirvana products can be found in Thai markets, grocery stores such as Whole Foods or Erewhon, and can be purchased online at the retail website www.iChaiyo.com.
Doi Chaang Coffee was established in a small village located within the Northern Thailand region of the Golden Triangle. It all started a few years ago when the hill tribe families of the Doi Chang Village united together to create their own coffee company.
After 20 years of cultivating and processing coffee, the farmers grew frustrated selling their high quality beans for minimal prices to coffee dealers who would blend them with other inferior coffee beans. Through their own initiative, the families decided it was time to directly offer the unique taste of their own premium, single-origin, organic Arabica coffee.
Today, the Doi Chang Village and the surrounding area is home to 8,000 people within eight hundred families, all living and primarily working together to cultivate and produce a premium organic, single-origin Arabica coffee.
Southeast Asia Organic Co., Ltd brought various bath products such as organic soaps and scrubs, organic candles, organic lemongrass essential oil and organic orange peel essential oil to the Thai Pavilion. They provide some of the best options for spa and aroma therapy at home. The company also presented organic tapioca starch and pearls, white and brown cane sugar, tapioca glucose and fructose syrup, and maltodextrin powder.
Southeast Asia Organic vision is to develop organic agriculture in order to achieve sustainable development in Thailand.
Since 1999, in addition to running the business, the company put effort into creating several social development projects in all the major agriculture parts of Thailand. It also meets many standards such as Halal Certificate, Bioagricert, and IFOAM.
Chiang Mai Organic, with the brand “PANA”, captured attention from many attendees at Natural Products Expo West 2011 and received a large order at the event. Its products meet many standards and Pana Botanicals is the organic soap of choice among the spa and wellness industry in Thailand. The prestigious Four Seasons Hotels Chiang Mai and Koh Samui, and The Paya Spa Chiang Mai and Bangkok use Pana Botanicals soaps exclusively.

PANA has created a high demand from the NPEW 2011 also. Mrs. Archinya, the owner of Chiang Mai Organic said it was a very successful show as she has received many orders from distributors and retailers in the U.S. The visitors liked the natural fragrance of PANA products and also the quality of the products. Rains is another Thai company who carries and distributes natural cleaning products from Thailand. The company is based in Los Angeles and introduces products from Thailand to the U.S. market.
Ms. Ping Lee from Rains visited Thai Trade Center Los Angeles a week before the NPEW 2011. She found an opportunity to introduce her company and present her products to us.
She said she found the website: thaitradeusa.com is very useful and knew that Thailand Ministry of Commerce (MOC), Office of the Permanent Secretary, Thai Organic Trade Association and Thai Trade Center Los Angeles would create Thai Pavilion at NPEW 2011.
