The Department of International Trade Promotion’s BIFF&BIL, BIG+BIH and TIFF become “STYLE” The comprehensive trade show to make Thailand regional leader in manufacturing, marketing and trading of lifestyle products.
Department of International Trade Promotion, or DITP, is launching “STYLE”, the regional’s largest and most comprehensive lifestyle tradeshow with more than 1,000 entrepreneurs from Thailand and all over the world in one event to meet potential buyers, with the intention to make Thailand the center of manufacturing, marketing and trading of lifestyle products in the ASEAN and Asia.
Following the phenomenal success of lifestyle trade shows – Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair: BIFF&BI; Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair: BIG+BIH and Thailand International Furniture Fair: TIFF – DITP combines all three to become “STYLE” under Life + Style concept and be part of Creative Thailand,world-class lifestyle trade show which is also the largest in the region. Slated to happen between October 17-21, the event is a supported by 24 related associations with more than 1,000 local and international exhibitors taking up 2,000 booth across 40,000 square-meter expo ground at BITEC Bangna.
DITP Deputy Director General Mr.Somdet Susomboon explains the story behind the grand-scale event that, “The department holds the main mission to promote Thai entrepreneurs’ export products and services, and launch as many Thai products as possible in the global market. This is climate where economy is stalling, both the vendors and the buyers are cutting down their budgets and cost. Also there is a changing trend in lifestyle products as many shifted from offering one single product to diversified portfolio that offers buyers various kinds of products and services under lifestyle category. Buyers, too, have more concept stores or multi-stores that offer various categories of lifestyle product to browse through. And this is a global trend. All factors considered, the department that already hosts several lifestyle events on a yearly basis, decided to combine all the events together to offer even more extensive, diverse and comprehensive selection. Participating vendors also get the chance to meet different groups of buyers. This event will also equip Thailand with better competitive edge for lifestyle product trade show.”
“STYLE” will include local and international vendors and the event will be promoted through major cities in Thailand and 50 other countries all over the world where DITP has representative offices. A road show to Cambodia and South Korea will give potential buyers and fair-goers information about this event. So far, vendors for “STYLE” include entrepreneurs from China, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia and CLMV. Visitors, especially from the US, Japan and Australia, are expected to reach 60,000.
“STYLE offers comprehensive lifestyle products in five major categories – fashion (BIFF), leather goods (BIL), gifts (BIG), home decoration (BIH) and furniture (TIFF). The department strongly believes that this tradeshow will enhance trade opportunity for vendors and lifestyle product manufacturers and expand client base in this category. STYLE also caters to the new consumer segments in that include retailers, concept store, property project development, buying agent from overseas, designers, interior designer, design institution, local and international shopping malls as well as those in fashion and lifestyle scene from all over the world. The department also extends this effort to cover local and international entrepreneurs in E-market place.” Deputy Director General says.
Not only trade show and business matching, “STYLE” also hosts several exhibitions, including the highlight exhibition about HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s life’s work and virtues that the department proudly presents with remembrance and deepest gratitude. A special section is set aside to showcase new trends in lifestyle product consumption such as products for customers at 60-plus, pets’ products, products for moms and children, gentlemen’s products, to inspire and guide both vendors and buyers about the emerging trends that can become business ideas. There are also exhibitions of herbal products, OTOP, lifestyle products from Royal Projects as well as craft products competition in national and international level.
DITP is confident that “STYLE” will make Thailand the regional leader in manufacturing, marketing and trading of lifestyle products in the near future.
