Thai Trade Center Los Angeles Kicks Off Thai Food Festival Project

The Thai Food Festival with Celebrity Chefs (THAILAND Week: Thai Food for Health) is one of many exciting events, to be organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP).

On Friday, August 16th, Thai Trade Center Los Angeles held a kick-off meeting with all parties involved in the project to discuss its plans for the upcoming event. Those in attendance are from the Royal Thai Consulate General Los Angels, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI), the Office of Agricultural Affairs, Thai Airways International (USA), Thai American Chamber of Commerce of California (TCCC) and others from the private sectors.

“Join us and taste authentic regional cuisine from the four regions of Thailand. Sample and savor national dishes and delicacies from street food vendors and authentic Thai restaurants. Experience the artistry of Thailand with Muay Thai martial arts, classical and folk dancing, umbrella painting, and other performances and presentations.”

Thai Trade Center Los Angeles, under the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) would like to cordially invite you to our 1st Annual Thai Food Festival 2013. The goal of this event is to promote and publicize what is known to be the essence of Thailand: Thai food, products, tourism and culture.

Thai Food Festival 2013” will also be celebrating the 180th Anniversary of U.S. -Thailand Relations, a mark of a long friendship history between the two countries. The Royal Thai Consulate General Los Angeles will be showcasing the past ties made between U.S. and Thailand, along with cultural, educational, information, and exchange programs that have strengthened our relationship over the past 180 years.

The Festival also involves the cooperation of various organizations, including Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI), the Office of Agricultural Affairs, Thai Airways International (USA), Thai American Chamber of Commerce of California (TCCC) and private sectors.

There will be plenty of savory Thai food prepared by Thai chefs from top Thai restaurants/vendors (e.g., Jitlada, Ruen Pair, Lum Ka Naad, Thai Society, Sapp, Night+Market, Thai Nakorn, Siam Sunset, Bhan Kanom Thai, Ayara Thai Cuisine), and well-known celebrity chefs (e.g., Jet Tila “1st Culinary Ambassador of Thai Cuisine”, Andy Ricker of Pok Pok, Susan Feniger of STREET).

The 1st Annual Thai Food Festival also proudly presents to you the Flagship Products of Thailand such as one of the finest quality lagers in the world by Singha Beer, healthy and refreshing beverages by Taste Nirvana, high quality and sustainable seafood by Rubicon Resources, popular and tasty noodles from MAMA, sweet and savory sauces by Bangkok Market, and tropical and fresh fruits from DP Trading and N.T.W.
